This is the final production of our music video, as of the problems we faced with actors and weather this video only took us a week to shoot and edit, obviously this is something we weren't pleased with to be doing but we feel we did a good job taking into account the circumstances.

change of plan
Over christmas we booked out equipment ready to film the last few parts of our video. However our main female was not able to do any of the days that we had left. This was a major worry of ours as we already had lots of footage of her in the shots. We tryed to think of other ways to work around her not being in the rest of the shots but the story would not have made sense. As we had little time and other girls we conntacted were not available, the only option was to use me or Adele to reshoot the whole thing.
We filmed over christmas on one day and managed to reshoot the whole of the house scene and the wood scene with me being the main female 'singer'. We felt more organised as we had already done most shots before and so we knew what position the camera had to be in. The first day back of college we re-filmed the white room scene and edited some of it that day too.
The next day Jordan found that our video had dissapeared. But we imported it again and edited more.

Audience feedback
We have had feedback on our video so far and are pleased with what was said. comments are as follow "The shots you have are really good- will look good when its finished. Saw a hand in one of the glitter shots. Really liked the beginning shot. split screen really good."
From this we can now able to re-shoot the stuff which need re-shoot. We are also able to know what went well and what didn't know and therefore able to use this information next time we shoot.

Preview of Video.
Here is a preview of the spilt screen clip that we did today. We chose to do this to add variety to our shot types and editing. We also did this because the clip itself was too long, so adding the spilt screen made it more interesting and wouldn't bore the audience.

images
As well as shooting we took a few photos to use for either our website or c.d. cover. Here are some we may use -
Also we took a few pictures of the location (the white room) and the main girls make-up.
saturdays shoot
On saturday we managed to get a bit done, however we didn't manage to film outside as it was drizzling and foggy. Some of the shots were a bit out of focus and fuzzy so therefore may need to re-shoot when we go back to film more at that location.

Last Friday 12/11/2010
Last friday, we had a media music video workshop day. In this day, we had 3 different workshops.
1. Make-up
In this workshop, there was a previous student who did a make up course, she is working with companies like BBC to do make up for things like shameless. She showed us what the easiest way to apply make up was and how we need to go through this procedure every time we shoot to maintain continuity.
2. Previous Music Videos
This workshop was interesting to see other students past work and to discuss our own music video to previous students so that they could give us some feedback and advice.
3. Directing
Here we got the chance to have a go at directing actors and doing a non-editing filming task.
Overall we think the day was helpful.

Weather
We are hoping to film more tomorrow (saturday). However we can see from the weather forecast that its going to be misty with drizzle later in the afternoon, therefore we may have to just film the inside scene in the house from our locations.
What we've been up to!
On Tuesday in lesson we had a change of plan with our actors. We really wanted to start filming on wednesday, but obviously the main girl had arrangements with another media group. Therefore we contacted every girl we could think of and eventually found someone (in which we are sooooo thankful to her). We also had to change our male actor, but the new actor was arranged before tuesday which made things abit better.
Wednesday
On wednesday at the start of lunch we began filming the scene in the white room. We chose to do this day as we were all in college at that point and the weather wasn't particularly pleasant to film our outdoor scenes. Abi was in-charge of the camera, Adele was in charge of the lighting and Jordan was in-charge of looking at the times of shots and the performance from the actors. We took about 20 minutes to do the make-up and took pictures of the finished make-up, so that it will have continuity when we do the make-up in other shots.
We have uploaded some of our footage today and are reasonably happy with it, we our more happy with the lip syncing as it looks in time to the song.

27th October Group Meeting Continued
Within this group meeting we also got inspiration for our CD design and also created the idea for our own CD design. We found inspiration from town from existing CD covers such as this once by Ke$ha herself;
We will also investigate other CD designs of relevant artists in our Digipak homework in much more detail but here is just an example of a CD cover that we could seek inspiration from. The plain black background is something we would like to include in our own CD cover with the use of glitter or bright font to stand out from the CD. But in our CD cover rather than have a generic close up of the artists face like on this cover, we would like to include two hands reaching for each other, with an explosion of bright powder/glitter coming from each hand, signifying a deep connection and the colours connotate the fun and glamourous image of our artist.
Inspiration comes in the strangest places; this zebra costumed man in Nottingham Town thought that we ourselves could include some kind of zebra/animal print within our artist's costume or even on our CD cover, this could portray the 'animalish' and wild side of our artist aswell as the animal print being right on trend, this is relevant as we want our artist to be highly stylish to appeal to our target audience of young teenage females.
This nail polish pictured above we found in Nottingham is highly relevant because we are planning to use it on the front cover of our CD design. This nail polish is a black base which allows bold, funky designs such as thunderbolts to be placed over the background. As our front cover will mainly include two hands, we would want this type of nail art of the hands to connotate the representations of the artists such as fun and youthful.
Leading on from this, we are going to blog about our CD design research in much closer detail and also post the sheet of our proposed CD design for our own CD so you can see our ideas much more precisely.
We also sat in Debenhams during our visit to Nottingham. During this stay we worked out from the new pitch idea we came up with, the new step outline for our song. This is just a rough outline of what we want the video to look like and our first initial idea for it.
27th October - Group Meeting
On the 27th, this Wednesday, our group went to Nottingham Town to continue with our planning folder, share new ideas or problems, find inspirations and obtain pictures of CD's for our half term Digipak design homework. As a group we finished off and helped each other with pieces of work within the planning folder such as the CD design sheet and shot list. Here are some pictures we took of things we found in shops such as River Island that inspired the costume and makeup design of our music video to reflect the image of our song/artist with ideologies such as glamour, edginess and glitter;

A few props
Here are some props we were thinking of including in our music video:
- Toy Dinosaurs (we had the idea of using toy dinosaurs for shots in the wood scene, as the word 'd-i-n-o-s-a-u-r' is used often in the song, therefore the visuals will relate to the lyrics. To use them in our video, we thought about panning across them, as this will show the different dinosaurs. We think the wood scene would be best for us to shoot this part because dinosaurs are more likely to be based outside in an arboraceous/sylvan environment, rather than inside.)
-glitter/sequins (we are planning on using glitter or sequins for the white room scenes. This will be when the 'old man' drops a cup on the floor, it will then transition into the white room, where a slow-motion performance will take place involving a lot of sparkly glitter.)
-Walking stick (this is a key aspect for our music video and relates so much towards the 'old man'. He will use this obviously to show his age, and we plan to show this by using close-up shots.)

New Idea
Back again.
From todays pitch, constructive feedback and on going location issues, we brainstormed some ideas and here is our modifed idea.
We are going to still use the old idea of an old man and a young girl. However, this time the young girl is a carer for an old man rather than being a tea lady surrounded by lots of old people. We have obviously dropped the scale of the cast in this because we found it seemed more achieveable. We will still include scenes of nature and woods (to do with the lyrics 'D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R') and the sterotypical image of kesha (with glitter in a plain white room in which she is shown singing to camera and dancing/jumping around). We are hoping to get into the glitter scene through the shot transitions of editing and disolving. This will start off by the young girl giving the old man a cup, he knocks it out her hand and it's full of glitter, this will then go into the dream squence where the old man is dreaming about the young girl dancing around sexily with her throwing glitter in the air etc. The old man will then wake up to the real situation of her handing him a normal cup of tea.
We are still having narrative in this storyline since the old man keeps deliberately doing things just to get the young girls attention and so he can perv on her. We are also including the young girl singing the song in a different room (maybe the kitchen?) and still intend to play around with our backing track by using sound distortion by the old man playing with his hearing aid.
We are also aiming to get a stop-start animation spelling out the lyrics 'D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R' and 'O-L-D-M-A-N'.
We are really looking forward to starting this project.

Brainstorms:
Music Video Idea
Hi guys.
We originally came up with this idea for our song:
Our main idea for the song is very narrative based. The idea is to revolve it around the lyrics of the song. Since the song lyrics include ‘D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R’ and ‘O-L-D-M-A-N’ we automatically thought of the idea of basing it in an old person’s home. The main storyline would be of a young girl coming into the old person’s home and flirtatiously dancing around the old people. Through this we was hoping at the end of the song we would get all the old people up and dancing as well. However, since we didn’t think this was going to fill up the whole of the 3 minutes, we also came up with the idea of also including a performance bit.
Since this takes a lot of planning, we have all-ready started contacting old-peoples homes in the area and are currently waiting for responses.
We have pitched this idea to the class, they gave us constructive feedback. From this is we have come up with a new idea, which we are going to post separately now.
Peace Out.
Jordan, Adele, Abi.
THE GENRE
OUR CONCEPTION IDEAS
THE GENRE
When we picked our music video, we had to think about the type of genre its under and what that genre uses to be identified and attract the audience. Therefore we drew a spider diagram with all the possible stereotypes of the pop genre. This then helped us in planning out what to include in our music video.
